Why is it so awkward to smile in self portraits?

Ok, so for some reason I always take outfit/belly photos while wearing this skirt, which is awkward because I swear that I wear many different outfits... not just this one. But I guess it works for comparisons sake. It is a little hard to see the bulging belly straight on (not complaining) so I did a couple of profile shots for you Erica...

Since the above shots are from more than a week ago, I'm also including one from Monday... I was trying on borrowed outfits for a Mad Men Christmas party, and found one that fits! I am totally going to rock it like Betty with some heels and a matching coat... if only I had a hat to match...
